    ONE OF THE LEADING FRENCH COUTURIERS, JACQUES ESTEREL, PREVIEWED HIS NEW FASHIONS FOR SPRING AND SUMMER AT HIS SALON ON JANUARY 27. THE FIRST OF THE LEADING DESIGNERS TO SHOW HIS WORK FOR 1964, IT FEATURED A "TAILORED" LOOK WITH A FREE USE OF COLOURS.

    ESTEREL, DESIGNATED A COUTURIER IN THE "GRAND MANNER", IS NOTED FOR HIS ELEGANT APPROACH TO BOTH STREET AND FORMAL WEAR, AND HE BOASTS AN EQUALLY ELEGANT CLIENTELE.

    HIS MODELS FOR 1964 EMPHASISE THE USE OF NATURAL FABRICS, SILK, WOOL AND LINEN WITH SOME JACKETS DOUBLE-BUTTONED AND SOME SKIRTS PLEATED. LIKE OTHER PARISIAN DESIGNERS, THERE IS A FAIRLY FREE USE OF ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS TO OFF-SET A STRAIGHT LINE TO MANY OF THE CREATIONS.

    MOST OF ESTEREL'S WORK WILL BE SHOWN TO THE PUBLIC ON FEBRUARY 25.
