VISNEWS hastened May 5 to London's Bond Sotheby's - auction house of the world's artistic masterpieces to look at 'Sails by Antibes', a 14 1/2 inch by 17 1/2 'pointillist-impressionist' Lot 109 representation of water, a yacht, trees, cliffs said to be by Paul Signac. (1863 - 1935)
It was Madame Jeannette Signac, the artist's daughter who first suggested the possibility of a forgery - Sotheby's art experts added the stamp of authority to her suspicious.
