    MONDAY (6 MARCH) WAS GHANA'S NATIONAL DAY -- THE TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF GHANA'S INDEPENDENCE. THE DAY WAS MARKED BY EVERY KIND OF FESTIVE CELEBRATION, INCLUDING, FOR INSTANCE, A PARTY ATTENDED BY HUNDREDS OF YOUNG GHANAIANS AT OSU CASTLE, ACCRA. THEY WERE THE GUESTS OF THE NATIONAL LIBERATION COUNCIL.

    WHILE THE CHILDREN SHOWED EVERY SIGN OF ENJOYING GHANA'S TEN YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE, THE N.L.C. (NATIONAL LIBERATION COUNCIL) ATTEMPTED TO KEEP TRACK OF THE NUMEROUS MESSAGES OF CONGRATULATION. GREETINGS INCLUDED THOSE FROM THE HEAD OF THE NIGERIAN FEDERAL MILITARY GOVERNMENT, LT-COLONEL YAKUBI GOWON, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE TOGOLESE NATIONAL COMMITTEE OF RECONCILIATION COLONEL BADJO, PRESIDENT MODIBE KEITA OF MALI, PRESIDENT LEOPOLD SENGHOR OF SENEGAL, PRESIDENT LAMIZANA OF UPPER VOLTA, AND PRESIDENT MOKTAR OU DADAH MAURITANIA. OTHERS ARRIVED FROM THE ACTING SECRETARY OF STATE OF LIBERIA, PAKISTAN, PRIME MINISTER ESHKOL OF ISRAEL, AND PRESIDENT RADHAKRISHNAN OF INDIA.
