Along the road from Vsumburu, on Lake Tanganyika's northern shores, to the administrative centre of Astrida, lone cars have been attacked by tribesmen, and for this part of the journey our cameraman travelled in convey under army protection. Tribesmen imprisoned under security regulations and warriors wounded during the fighting the fighting were filmed at Astrida.

For the journey from Astrida to Nyanza there was no military protection, but the fighting was going on some distance from the road.
