Background: Australian Prime Minister Robert Menzies on a visit to India was welcomed at Palam Airport, New Delhi, July 3 by Indian Premier Nehru, Defence Minister Krishna Menon, other Cabinet officials and members of the diplomatic corps.

After meeting the Press, Mr. Menzies, accompanied by his wife, left by car with Mr. Nehru for Rashtrapati Bhavan. Before leaving he told reporters: "I have come here to see Mr. Nehru and exchange views".

Mr. Menzies, on a world tour, arrived in Karachi July 2 for discussions with President Ayub and his Ministers.

On June 1 he arrived in England from America for talks with Government leaders. After four weeks in Britain, he left for a two-day visit to Holland.
