  • Description

Indian troops to complement the United Nations force in the Congo Republic are currently being airlifted from Dar-es-Salaam (Tanganyika) to Kamina in the Katanga province. The troops had arrived at Dar-es-Salaam in a United Nations troopship.

"Britannia" aircraft of the British Royal Air Force were expected to help speed-up the transfer. Other aircraft being used have been chartered from world airlines.

Kamina - says our cameraman - is now bulging with U.N. troops; and President Tshombe is far from pleased at this concentration. Kamina was in a state of alarm... and it was wondered if Tshombe would attempt to use force against them to show his continued opposition to the U.N.
