MICHAEL BLAKEY: "In the match itself Randall carried on where he'd finished last night:"



NORMAN MAY: "And they're going for a run. that's his hundred. Magnificent effort Randall, Derek Randall, a hundred in his first test against Australia."



MICHAEL BLAKEY: "So a century in Randall's first test against Australia when he faced Lillee in possibly his last test."



NORMAN MAY: "And the hit with the head, a bad one. There's an appeal there. The ball's gone to second slip and caught. Now the batsman is down."



MICHAEL BLAKEY: "But the blow on the head didn't affect his from."



JIM LAKER: "Beautiful shot. Perfect piece of timing again by Derek Randall. He just lent easily and casually into it."

Background: Cricket, and in an exciting finish to the Centenary Test match being played in Australia, the Australians dismissed England to win by 45 runs. The winning margin was the same as that when the two teams first met in a Test match a hundred years ago. Highlights of the match were a score of 174 by England's Derek Randall playing in his first Test, and the taking of 11 wickets by Australia's Dennis Lillee. Queen Elizabeth, on a tour of Australia, was there to watch part of the last day's play and to meet the players.
