  • Description

Cricket, and in an exciting finish to the Centenary Test match being played in Australia, the Australians dismissed England to win by 45 runs. The winning margin was the same as that when the two teams first met in a Test match a hundred years ago. Highlights of the match were a score of 174 by England's Derek Randall playing in his first Test, and the taking of 11 wickets by Australia's Dennis Lillee. Queen Elizabeth, on a tour of Australia, was there to watch part of the last day's play and to meet the players. The BBC's Bob Friend reports, with match commentary by Michael Blakey, Norman May and Jim Laker.
