Background: Sixteen slogan-shouting Cuban students were hauled out of the United Nations Security Council Chamber on Saturday after some had chained themselves to furniture and railings in an anti-Castro demonstration.

U.N. Security guards freed the students with wire-cutters and took them to a nearby policy station to be charged with trespassing.

SYNOPSIS: The Security Council of the U.N. empty on Saturday but for tour parties - was suddenly the scene of an anti-Castro demonstration by sixteen slogan-shouting Cuban students.

They invaded the chamber and some chained themselves to furniture and railings after a telephone call was made to a news agency announcing that students were taking it over, 'demanding to see the Human Rights Committee about prisoners in Cuba'.

U.N. security guards freed the students and they were taken to a nearby police station to be charged with trespassing. The demonstrators had entered the U.N. building by joining a guided tour party. When the group was ushered through the Security Council they broke away to shackle themselves with chains and handcuffs.
