    PRESIDENT ALPHONSE MASSAMBA-DEBAT OF CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE WAS CONTINUING HIS VISIT TO THE IVORY COAST TODAY (TUESDAY) WITH VISITS TO ECONOMIC PROJECTS AND A RECEPTION AT WHICH HE RECEIVED THE KEYS OF ABIDJAN, THE CAPITAL. THE PRESIDENT ARRIVED IN ABIDJAN YESTERDAY FOR A FOUR DAY OFFICIAL VISIT AT THE INVITATION OF PRESIDENT FELIX HOUPHOUET-BOIGNY OF THE IVORY COAST.

    PRESIDENT HOUPHOUET-BOIGNY WAS AT THE AIRPORT TO GREET HIS GUEST. SO WAS A BIG WELCOMING CROWD, IN SPITE THE RAIN IN ABIDJAN. PRESIDENT MASSAMBA-DEBAT FLEW TO ABIDJAN AFTER AN OFFICIAL VISIT TO CONAKRY, GUINEA, WHERE HE DESCRIBED HIS VISIT AS AIMED AT STRENGTHENING THE RELATIONS ALREADY EXISTING BETWEEN AFRICAN STATES. HE SAID HIS VISIT WAS "MILITANT AND FRATERNAL" AND SPOKE OF HIS OWN COUNTRY AS IN THE FOREFRONT OF THE AFRICAN REVOLUTION AND ANTI-IMPERIALIST BATTLE.

    AT A RECEPTION GIVEN IN HIS HONOUR LAST NIGHT, PRESIDENT MASSAMBA-DEBAT SAID HIS COUNTRY'S SOCIALIST IDEOLOGY SHOULD NOT PROVE AN OBSTACLE TO INTER-AFRICAN OR INTERNATIONAL CO-OPERATION. HE SAID THE CONGO REVOLUTION HAD OPENED HIS COUNTRY'S DOORS WIDER TO AFRICA AND THE WORLD. PRESIDENT HOUPHOUET-BOIGNY STRESSED THE IMPORTANCE OF PERSONAL CONTACTS, WHICH HE SAID WOULD AID THE PROGRESS AND ASPIRATIONS OF THE AFRICAN PEOPLES.
