An atmosphere of Sino-Japanese Friendship permeated Peking Railway Station as more than two thousand representatives of young people in the Chinese capital gave a rousing welcome to their Japanese friends who had to break through many obstacles to reach Peking.The welcomers hailed the victories scored by the young Japanese friends in their firm struggle for Sino-Japanese friendship and the unprecedented, great gathering of the young peoples of China and Japan in the Chinese capital.
Among the welcomers at the station were Chao An-po, Secretary General of the China-Japan Friendship Association; Hu Chi-li, Chan Ta-wei, Tsao Chin-ju, Vice-Presidents of the All-China Youth Federation; Wu Shao-tsu, President of the All-China Students' Federation and other responsible personnel of organisations sponsoring the youth festival.
Li Wen-yi, Vice-Chairman of the Peking Youth Federation made a welcoming speech on behalf of the one million young people in Peking.
Kinnosuke Yoshimura, head of the delegation of the Democratic Youth League of Japan and Hiroshi Okamoto, head of the Delegation of Japanese Music Council of the Working People both wished the festival a success.
The staff of the Nationalities Hotel lined the entrance to welcome the Japanese guests.
