Background: King Hassan II of Morocco took the salute at a military parade in Casablanca on Saturday (November 17) to mark the eighteenth anniversary of Morocco independence.
In the march were men of the Moroccan expeditionary force who had been fighting in Sinai and on the Golan Heights in the October war against Israel.
Morocco committed about 1,800 troops to the fighting. They were reported to have been in action from the first day of the war, and were said to have fought well.
Also at Saturday's parade were the Crown Prince Sidi Mohamed and Prince Moulay Rechid and Prince e Moulay Abdallah.
