    Prime Minister Chou En-lai of the People's Republic of China hosted a dinner in Peking last week (28 June) for the two visiting leaders of the U.S. House of Representatives.

    The 10-day visit by Mr. Hale Boggs, leader of the majority Democrats in the House, and Republican leader Gerald Ford is part of the continuing Sino-American exchanges following U.S. PresidentRichard Nixon's Journey to Peking last February.

    It followed an earlier visit to Peking by Senators Mike Manefield and Hugh Scott, the Senate majority and minority leaders.

    SYNOPSIS: In the People's Republic of China last week, PrimeMinister Chou En-lai hosted a dinner for two visiting political party leaders from the United States. The visiting politicians, Mr.Hele Boggs, leader of the Majority Democrats in the House of Representatives and House Republican leader Gerald Ford attended the banquet on the third day of their 10-day visit.

    Lake Mr Boggs, Mr. Ford was also accompanied by his wife. The visit by the two men is part of the continuing Sino-American exchanges following U.S. President Richard Nixon's visit to Peking last February.

    Representatives Boggs and Ford's meeting with Prime Minister Chow came shortly after Presidential adviser Henry Kissinger had ended special five-day round of talked in the Chinese capital.

    the American politicians had arrived in Peking on 26 June. And before leaving for home on 6 July, they had the opportunity of travelling outside Peking for visits to Shenyang in northeast China and Canton in the southern part of the country.
