    A delegation from Zambia - headed by Vice-President Mainza Chona - arrived in Peking on September 17 to start a Goodwill visit to The People's Republic of China.

    The Zambian party was met at the airport by a huge and enthusiastic welcome. The greeting committee was headed by Vice-Premier Li Hsien-nien, and included many ranking members of the Government and the diplomatic corps. Also on hand to greet the African visitors, 3,000 Chinese dancers, signers and general public.

    That same evening, Vice-President and Mme. Chona and the rest of the Zambian delegation were the guests at a banquet given in their honour by Premier Chou En-lai.

    During the banquet, the Chinese Premier and the Zambian statesman gave speeches, in which they both recalled the friendship, trade and economic links between their two countries, and how both had a long tradition of struggle against imperialism.
