    General George Grivas, former leader of the militant Greek-Cypriot organisation EOKA, was installed as honorary president of the Greek Cypriot Students' Union in Athens, Nov.22.

    In the Iris Theatre he told Cypriot students, now in Greece under the 'Help EOKA Veterans' education plan, they should draw inspiration from the struggle by their people against imperialism.

    As Cyprus Youth had been relied on in that conflict, so was he relying on it to help and co-operate with Archbishop Makarios for the "victory of Peace and Prosperity in Cyprus." And, Grivas demanded, the country's students must be ready to defend the freedom they had inherited.

    Grivas's speech was devoid of references to the present situation in Cyprus.
