Background: Despite teething troubles, Bolivia's first tin foundry is giving a major boost to the country's industry. The plant, constructed by a West German company, is currently producing 24 tons of metallic tin a day.
But only this week it was reported that newsmen touring the foundry heard that technical problems have cut planned production by half.
