    The Ivory Coast Government has presented a departing West German engineer, who worked in the country for two years, with a medal of thanks to mark co-operation between the two countries. The engineer, who worked for the Ivory Coast Industrial Development Bank, was presented with his medal at a ceremony in Abidjan on Saturday (18 September) by Secretary of State to the Treasury Mr. Kone Abdoulaye.     SYNOPSIS: At a ceremony on Saturday in Abidjan, capital of the Ivory Coast, a departing West German engineer was presented with a medal of thanks to mark co-operation between the two countries.

    The medal was presented by Treasury Secretary Kone Abdoulaye to engineer Wolfgang Zenker, who has worked for the Ivory Coast Industrial Development Bank for the past two years. He was due to leave the ivory Coast to return home to West Germany.

    Mr. Zenker graduated from the Berlin Technical University and later attended Cambridge University in England. From 1963 to 1969 he was a senior executive in the Telefunken electronics factory in Berlin, before going to the ivory Coast.

    During the ceremony, Mr. Abdoulaye said the purpose of the presentation was to mark co-operation between the Ivory Coast and West Germany through the work d??? Mr. Zenker. In reply, Mr. Zenker thanked the Treasury Secretary and the Ivory Coast Government, and said he hoped co-operation between the two countries would be expanded.
