    TRANSCRIPT SEQ 14:
SINATRA: Well, what are we going to talk about?

REPORTER: Well Frank, your colleagues in Hollywood have honoured you once again,
are you really going to retire?

    SINATRA: Oh yes,
that's permanent. That's the answer to it all, I think.

GIRL REPORTER: If you hear of a good part, perhaps....

SINATRA: In a film? No I don't think so. No, not even a
recording. For the next year nothing, just nothing, just trying to relax. Just
    nothing.

    GIRL REPORTER: Why?

SINATRA: Because I just want to take it easy for one year, or maybe six
months, or seven months, I don't know. I just want to stop, take my wrist watch
    off and take it easy.

    REPORTER: What about a song
    that you might really dig?

    SINATRA: No, not even
    then, no.

GIRL REPORTER: You've always been such a
busy man, so much energy, are you certain how you'll take retirement....

SINATRA: I'll let you know in a year from now - one
year from now I'll let you know.

    Background: Cheering fans mobbed
the big screen stars as they arrived for Thursday's Oscar award ceremony at a
Hollywood theatre. It was the 43rd year of the awards.

Among the starts seen arriving on this film is Miss Ali MacGraw, start of "Love
Story", unsuccessful contender for several awards.

One of the special awards presented at the ceremony in the Los Angeles Music
Centre was the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. This went to 1953 Oscar-winner
    Frank Sinatra.

After the ceremony, he spoke to reporters, but avoided making any new
revelations about his retirement, announced last month, at the age of 55.
