Background: Miss Elizabeth Palmer, the general secretary of the world Young Women's Christian Association, has been visiting Ghana.
During her visit Miss Palmer paid a courtesy call on the chief executive of the greater Accra region of the Association. He is Mr. A.S.O. Mensah.
Later, at a tea party, Miss Palmer said the YWCA is like an extended family, symbolising responsibility for one another. The YWCA offered an opportunity to its members to serve the community in which they lived.
The tea party was attended by many embers of the Association, among them Mrs. Emile Naa Hesse, a member of the council of state and the national President of the Ghana YWCA, Mrs. C.S. George. The National general secretary, Mrs. Barlette Vanderpuye, was also present.
