  • Description

Miss Bernadette Devlin, the 24-year-old Northern Irish representative for Mid-Ulster in Britain's Parliament, said today (July 13) she will organise a "people's tribunal on the recent killing of two civilians in Northern Ireland. They were shot by British troops stationed there. Earlier, the British Government refused to hold an official public inquiry, saying that the Army's account of the shootings was sufficient. The Army claimed that the two men had been armed and were attacking British troops. In Northern Ireland, meanwhile, two soldiers were killed yesterday and today. The incidents are believed to be in reprisal for the death of the civilians last week. This film, showing an interview with Miss Devlin in London today, is by the British Broadcasting Corporation.
