The recent decision to award him the Nobel Prize speaks of his world-wide recognition.
On November 15th the Lenin Library in Moscow opened an exhibition of Shelokhov's books.
It has copies of the author's first publication, as well as his collected works.
There is a special section dedicated to Sholokhov's war-time works, and another showing how Sholokhov and his characters have inspired Soviet artists. This section, entitled "Sholokhov and Art", has illustrations of Soviet editions of Sholokhov's books.
Other interesting sections of the exhibition show Sholokhov as member of the Soviet parliament, and as a Nobel Prize winner.
