During his stay - first stop on his Europe, Asia, Africa tour - Mr. Eisenhower will have conversations with President Gronchi, scheduled on a State visit to Moscow in December, and with Premier Segni and Foreign Minister Pella.
From Rome the President flies to Turkey (Dec 6), Pakistan (Dec Afghanistan (Dec 9), India - his main objective and where he will stay five days Dec 9 - 14 - Persia (Dec 14), Greece (Dec 14) Tunisia (dec 17), France - and Paris for the Dec 19 'Western Summit' - Spain (Dec 21), and finally Morocco (Dec 22).
Eleven countries in almost as many days - the most extensive tour ever undertaken by an American President.
So strenuous is his programme, Mr. Eisenhower will be unable to take part in preparations for the Western Powers' meeting in Paris. His sole opportunity for conferring with his Secretary of State, Christian Herter, will be on the train from Toulon to Paris after the Tunisia visit.
