Background: Fashions displayed at the "Bagong Anyo '72" fashion show int he philippines may be seen soon in other parte of South-East Asia and in Europe. The show, held at the Cultural Centre of the Philippines in Manila, on Saturday 30 December, was a project of Mrs. Imelda Marcos, the wife of Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos, and she plans to send the show abroad. An aim of the show was to promote Philippine fashions and designers at home and abroad.
Designers whose work was featured in the show included Maria Clara, Tony Decena, Ben Farrales and Pitoy Moreno. As far as possible, the fashion show displayed fabrics and accessories entirely made in the philippines.
SYNOPSIS: Fashions designed in the Philippines may soon be seen in other parts of South East Asia and in Europe. The Bagong Anyo fashion show last week was a special project of Mrs. Imelda Marcos, wife of the Philippine President, and she plans to send the show abroad.
Among the evening wear, a full-length lemon dress with flowing sleeves and skirt, heavily sequined around the hem.
The show was aimed at all age groups and included both modern and traditionally inspired fashions. The show was held at the Cultural Centre of the Philippines in Manila and one of its major tasks was to promote local and international interest in Filipino fashion. Designers whose work was featured included: Maria Clara, Tony Decena, Ben Farrales, and Pitoy Moreno.
More evening wear... this time pink culottes with flowing sleeves merging into the sides of the garment.
A short waistcoat style jacket is removed to reveal a matching full length dress, trimmed with sequin.
A similar style, but instead of a jacket, a short white cape trimmed with flowers and a matching red and white full-length dress.
