  • Description

In the Central African Republic of Chad, a new factory will soon start producing edible oil from cotton seeds and peanuts. It will not only meet the country's own needs, but will also produce oil for export.

SYNOPSIS: The factory is situated in N'Djamena, the capital of Chad. It employs 160 people and has a capacity for refining oil from 200 tons of cotton seeds per day.

It has been built at a cost of about 12 million dollars. Its various processing plants and other equipment are now going through trial.

The daily production capacity of the plant will increase considerably when refining of peanuts begins at a later stage. When fully operational, the factory will produce a total of seven million litres of oil each year, some of which will be exported to neighbouring countries. And there are plans for building a soap factory within the complex
