    THE RHODESIAN PRIME MINISTER, MR. IAN SMITH, MET AGAIN WITH HIS CABINET TONIGHT (FRIDAY) AS BRITAIN'S LEADER, MR. WILSON, PREPARED TO FLY BACK TO LONDON BY WAY OF ZAMBIA, GHANA AND NIGERIA.

    AFTER RHODESIAN CABINET HAD MET FOR FOUR HOURS, MR. SMITH EMERGED TO TELL REPORTERS "WE ARE PREPARED TO ON ALL NIGHT IF NECESSARY." THE TWO MINISTERS MET FOR 80 MINUTES IN THE MORNING, AND ARRANGEMENTS WERE MADE FOR A FINAL MEETING, IF NECESSARY, BEFORE MR. WILSON'S DEPARTURE EARLY TOMORROW.

    YESTERDAY, MR. WILSON MET RHODESIAN TRIBAL LEADERS LED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL OF CHIEFS, CHIEF ZBIMBA. NO RHODESIAN GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL WAS PRESENT AT THE MEETING.

    MR. WILSON ALSO MET THE CHRISTIAN COUNCIL OF RHODESIA, LED BY THE BISHOP OF MATABELELAND, THE REVEREND K. J. SKELTON, AND THEN THE CONSTITUTIONAL COUNCIL, WHICH CONSIDERS ALL BILLS LAID BEFORE PARLIAMENT. THE COUNCIL WAS LED AT THE MEETING BY SIR VICTOR ROBINSON.

    THE BRITISH PRIME MINISTER ALSO HAD FURTHER DISCUSSIONS WITH AFRICAN NATIONALIST LEADERS, MR. JOSHUA NKOMO AND THE REVEREND NDABANINGI SITHOLE, WHO HAVE BEEN HELD IN RESTRICTION.

    TONIGHT IT WAS ANNOUNCED THAT MR. WILSON HAS SUMMONED THE BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER IN UGANDA, TANZANIA AND ZAMBIA TO SALISBURY FOR CONSULTATIONS ABOUT THE RESULTS OF EFFORTS TO SOLVE THE INDEPENDENCE CRISIS.
