    Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, flew into Fort Jameson, the oldest town in Northern Rhodesia, May 23, on the last stage of her tour through the territory before entering Nyasaland. After a rousing welcome from the African population of 8,000 she visited a garden party and then went on to an "indaba" of African tribal chiefs from far and near.

    A spectacular display was given before the Queen Mother by tribal dancers as they performed traditional dances, brandishing spears and chanting. Later, the Queen Mother received presentations from the Paramount tribal chiefs.

    The Queen Mother's tour of the Rhodesia's ends May 30.
