    ABOUT A THOUSAND WOMEN, SUMMONED BY THEIR UNION, GATHERED WITH PLACARDS AND WREATHS OUTSIDE THE TOWN HALL IN THE MAIN SQUARE OF THE TOWN.

    PLACARDS DREW ATTENTION TO THEIR GRIEVANCES -- LONG HOURS OF WORK, AND LOW PRICES FOR THEIR PRODUCE.

    AFTER HEARING SPEECHES, THE WOMEN FORMED A PROCESSION AND MARCHED THROUGH THE TOWN STREETS. THERE WERE NO INCIDENTS.
