  • Description

Apparently two airmen were down in ocean off Hawaii. A C 54 Rangemaster aircraft from Hickam Field took off after them, and recovered the survivors, using forgmen who parachuted to the spot. A Coast Guard cutter then turns up, collected the survivors and pararescue men, and took them all back to Hawaii.

DOD does not say when this happened, how it happened, or who the rescued men were or how they got in trouble in the first place. Apparently they belonged to an Albatross amphibian from Barber's Point (wherever that is--presumably Hawaii) which splashed.
