The Prime Minister of Singapore, mr. Lee Kuan yew, had informal talks with Britain's Prime Minister, Mr. Heath, over dinner at No. 10 Downing Street, London, last night ( 5 October ).
It is believed that the two leader is discussed prospects of the January conference in Singapore of Commonwealth Prime Minister, at which Mr. Lee will be the chairman.
One of the most controversial topics at the Commonwealth summit will be the question of Britain supplying arms to South Africa. No final decision has yet been taken and Mr. Lee ha forecast that the issue will result in some tense moments at the January conference.
Mr. Lee is also involved in the discussion for the proposed Commonwealth defence system for South-East Asia.
Mr. Lee's wife accompanied him at the Downing Street diner. The previous day the Singapore Prime Minister held informal talks with Britain's Foreign Minister, Sir Alec Douglas-Home.
Since attending last month's conference of non-aligned nations in Lusaka, Zambia, the Singapore leader has held talks with several of the world's leading political figures.
