  • Description

A spokesman for the Viet Cong Provisional Revolutionary Government (PRG) repeatedly attacked United States policies in South Vietnam, while guaranteeing the safe departure of American personnel from the country, in Paris on Wednesday (16 April).

The spokesman, Mr. Din Bathi, said at a news conference that the PRG demanded that immediate withdrawal of some 25,000 U.S. "disguised military personnel", warships, aircraft and marine from South Vietnam.

He also said they were prepared to accept--in their policy of reconciliation--Vietnamese who had "collaborated with the United States and the Thieu regime".

Mr. Bathi urged socialist countries to join from in condemning President Ford's evacuation of Vietnamese from areas now occupied by the PRG. He added that a great majority stayed behind in "newly-liberated" areas and they were enthusiastically building a new life for themselves.
