This reel shows the Frontier situation today. Cars are held up at the Spanish Frontier up to 2 hrs. The shots shown begin with an establishment shot a G. V from above the frontier area with the Gibraltar frontier in the foreground and the Spanish Frontier in the background divided by a strip of so called No Man's Land. Shot 1. General view from rock with zoom to Spanish Custom (2) then with Custom at centre of Picture 3 G.V. of Gibraltar - Spanish frontier -- close up of Spanish Police on Frontier units from Road level. The rest of the shots show cars arriving from Spain at 2hr interval. Cars stop, driver gets out and goes to Police officer, he gets in again and is stopped again by police for passport inspection. Whereas heretofore cars came into Gibraltar in a regular stream, queues have now disappeared on our frontier as one car at a time comes through every 2 hrs. to 3 hrs. There are some shots of Spanish Police wasting time talking and reading while cars wait. There is a long distant view of the Frontier town of La Linea a shot of People waiting by the car and a shot of the Union Jack which flies at the Frontier with a Pan to the Spanish flag at the other side of the Frontier. It was not possible to film at the Custom Building in Spain.
