Background: In the Soviet Union specially-designed helicopters are being increasingly used for difficult building and assembly work.

During a recent test period, a helicopter and its crew had to perform complicated manoeuvre which demanded a very high degree of accuracy.

This film shows one of the operations in which the helicopter was used to install equipment weighing 120 tons into the opening of a chimney, 250 meters (800 feet) high. The job took place at the kostromskays Electro Station.

Engineers said the use of the helicopter reduced the length the work might otherwise have taken by about four times.
