Background: Ten of the top badminton players from The People's Republic of China have arrived in Britain for series of games with teams from London, Bristol, Carlisle and Birmingham.

Most of the players have never left their home country before and as well as playing badminton they intend to promote British-Chinese friendship.

Although new to the international badminton scene, players from The People's Republic of China are now regarded as a major threat to Malaysia and Indonesia's long established superiority in the game.

SYNOPSIS: Ten top badminton players form The People's republic of China have arriving in London for a series of matches with British teams. Within hours of arriving at London Airport they were at a local court practising. They'll meet badminton players from London, Bristol, Cheerlessly and Birmingham.

Although new to the international badminton scene the Chinese players are already regarded as a serious threat to the long established superiority of teams from Malaysia and Indonesia. But the visitors have another reason for this overseas trip...they hope to promote British-Chinese friendship. In between matches they'll see the House of Commons and visit the Foreign Office for tea.
