HE WAS MET BY CONGO'S DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER LOLIKI, THE BURUNDI AMBASSADOR TO CONGO-KINSHASA AND OTHER HIGH OFFICIALS, BEFORE GOING TO MOUNT STANLEY TO SEE THE PRESIDENT. ANOTHER OFFICIAL VISITOR TO THE PRESIDENTIAL RESIDENCY WAS THE IVORY COAST'S MINISTER OF JUSTICE, CAMILLE ALI-ALI.

    THE BURUNDI STATESMAN WAS CARRYING A MESSAGE FROM HIS PRESIDENT, MICHEL MICOMBERO, TO THE CONGOLESE HEAD OF STATE.

    DISCUSSIONS BETWEEN PRESIDENT MOBUTU AND THE FOREIGN MINISTER CENTRED MAINLY ON THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE FORTHCOMING CONFERENCE BETWEEN THE FOREIGN MINISTERS OF THE CONGO, BURUNDI AND RWANDA. THE NOVEMBER TALKS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP STRONGER ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL TIES BETWEEN THE THREE FORMER BELGIAN TERRITORIES.

    LATER, PRESIDENT MOBUTU RECEIVED THE IVORY COAST'S MINISTER OF JUSTICE, CAMILLE ALI-ALI, WHO, AS THE SPECIAL ENVOY OF PRESIDENT FELIX HOUPHOUET-BOIGNY, ALSO DELIVERED A MESSAGE CONCERNING RELATIONS BETWEEN THEIR TWO COUNTRIES TO THE CONGOLESE PRESIDENT.
