    A WESTBROOK, CONNECTICUT STORE BECAME THE FIRST IN THAT STATE'S HISTORY TO BE LICENSED TO SELL HORSEMEAT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. TUESDAY THE STORE OPENED TO THE PUBLIC. BUTCHER KEN CARLSON SAID HE EXPECTED A FEW PEOPLE TO SHOW UP BUT THAT BUSINESS WAS BOOMING AND PEOPLE WERE BUYING LARGE QUANTITIES, NOT SIMPLY SMALL AMOUNTS TO TRY IT OUT. HORSEMEAT STEAKS WERE SERVED AT A LOCAL YACHT CLUB AND MEMBERS THERE WHILE EATING SAID ALTHOUGH IT TASTED SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT THEY HAD TASTED WORSE BEEF.
