THE PRESIDENT, WHO HAD RETURNED FROM A TRIP TO BRUSSELS AND PARIS THE DAY BEFORE (AUGUST 29), WAS ACCOMPANIED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE SUPREME COURT IGNACIO PINTO, MEMBERS OF THE GOVERNMENT AND OTHER HIGH OFFICIALS.

    THE DANCERS AND MUSICIANS HAD SET UP THEIR "STAGE" ON THE GROUNDS IN FRONT OF THE PRESIDENT'S RESIDENCE IN COTONOU.

    DURING THE COURSE OF THE PRESENTATIONS, SINGERS CALLED OUT HOMAGES TO THE PRESIDENT - SUCH AS "GLORY TO PRESIDENT ZINSOU. GOD BLESS YOU AND GIVE YOU THE GRACE AND THE STRENGTH TO PROTECT THE NATION."
    DANCERS, MUSICIANS AND SINGERS FOLLOWED EACH OTHER THROUGHOUT THE DAY - ENDING THE MUSICAL DEMONSTRATION AT NIGHTFALL.
