    FIRE STARTED BY SABOTEURS WRECKED A U.S. CONFECTIONERY FACTORY IN CARACAS, VENEZUELA, THIS WEEK. THE BLAZE, SET ALIGHT BY AN INCENDIARY BOMB, DESTROYED PLANT AND OFFICES BEFORE FIREMEN BROUGHT IT UNDER CONTROL.

    NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE FACTORY WAS OWNED BY ADAMS CHICLET, OF AMERICA. THE FIRE WAS THE LATEST IN A WAVE OF SABOTAGE AGAINST U.S. ENTERPRISES IN VENEZUELA.

    OIL INSTALLATIONS OWNED BY THE AMERICAN CREOLE PETROLEUM CORPORATION IN CARACAS WERE SET ABLAZE EARLIER THIS WEEK. AND IN NORTHERN VENEZUELA, A PIPELINE CARRYING 200,000 BARRELS OF OIL A DAY WAS DAMAGED AND SET ON FIRE BY A BOMB NEAR THE JUDIBANA REFINERY.
