  • Description

The Pestalozzi village in Trogen, Switzerland, which is already the home of many European orphans, recently welcomed new arrivals to its young international family. They were twenty small refugees, saved from the national tragedy of Tibet.

It was a proud day for the village when the Tibetan house was opened, and to show they were keeping their country's traditions alive the children gave a display of Tibetan dancing.

When at school, the children sit on floor-level mats, but at night they have the comfort of conventional beds. In the dining hall they are looked after by the so-called "parents" of the village as they enjoy a good meal.
