Today the 29th of January 1973, Nicolae Ceausescu the president of the State Council of the Socialist Republic of Romania received David Rockefeller, the president of "The Chase Manhattan" Bank of U.S.A, who is visiting Romania.
The minister of Finances Florea Dumitrescu, the president of the Administration Council of the Romanian Bank for Foreign Affairs Vasile Voloseniuc and the counsellor of the President of the State Council 10n Romanu took part in the meeting.
Leonard Meeker, the ambassador of the United States of America at Bucharest was present at the meeting.
On this opportunity items of collaboration and cooperation were discussed and the possibilities of developing these relations on a reciprocal advantageous basis.
The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere.
The President of the Stat Council of the Socialist Republic of Romania Nicholas CosuCescu received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Meurice Schumen. During the meeting a high appreciation of the traditional and multilateral cooperation relations has been proved between Romaine and France. The common wish if setting into value more and more the existent possibilities for the enlargement and continuous diversification of the reciprocal cooperation in multiple fields; political, economic, technical, scientific and cultural fields. Broaching aspects of international life, the favourable development of the latest events was stated with satisfaction, underlining the necessity of the participation of all the states in the process of the development of international dates to and security, in the solving of all problems regarding the strengthening of peace and states cooperation. At the same time the special contribution representing the creation of the most favourable conditions for a larger participation of all stiles in the international economical changes, was appreciated.
During the discussions it was reaffirmed Romania's and France's o???mon will to further contribute to the achievement of a lasting security on our continent, appreciating that the beginning of the preparations for the Security and cooperation Conference in Europe represents an extremely important moment in this multilateral process. It has been found with much satisfaction that the two countries have very close or identical points of view regarding the achievement of security in Europe also proved during the preliminary talks in Melsinky, as well as other items of the international life, all these loading to the further fruitful cooperation between Romania and Frances, for peace and international cooperation. The President of the State Council of Romania invited the guest to an official dine.
