    FRANCE AND SENEGAL SIGNED AN AGREEMENT IN DAKAR, THE SENEGALESE CAPITAL, RECENTLY ON THE EXCHANGE OF WORKS OF ART.

    THE AGREEMENT WAS SIGNED BY M. JEAN DE LAGARDE, THE FRENCH AMBASSADOR, AND M. MAHTAR M'BOW, THE SENEGALESE MINISTER OF EDUCATION.

    UNDER THE AGREEMENT FRANCE WILL LEND SENEGAL 15 TAPESTRIES BY CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS FOR THREE YEARS.

    SENEGAL WILL SEND FRANCE SOME DOGON MASKS AND SOME SMALL GOLD MASKS MADE IN THE IVORY COAST. IT WILL ALSO BE LOANING FRANCE AN ANCIENT MONOLITH FROM BERKELANE.
