New fashions for children were on view at the Grand Palais, Paris, France, Oct 31. Emphasis was on winter wear...with the exception of two youngsters who proudly show off their new plastic pants!
The audience was shown this woollen dress, just the thing for the colder weather. This little girl seemed to have all the confidence of a professional model!
The next garments were quite simple (what there was of them) Pants. Life can be very miserable for a toddler if he's feeling a little uncomfortable! His young partner, upholding the virtue of modesty, kept her vest on. The pants have two important features - they are waterproof and have zip fasteners.
Next, for girls, came a warm, one-piece winter suit. It was quilted, with a hood. And for the boys, there were long trousers for six-year-olds. They were worn with a French sailor jacket.
Here's another one-piece winter suit. The young model had more trouble with the ball than with the suit! But it took the mind off the ordeal of parading in public. And for the fashion-conscious teenage girl was a Scotch woollen dress with stiff white collar and lace.
