    Mr Alexei Kosygin, Prime Minister of the Soviet Union, flew in to Rabat, Morocco, from Algeria on Friday (8th October). He was greeted at Rabat airport by eight-year-old Crown Prince Sidi Mohammed...elder son of king Hassan....and by Prince Moualay Abdallah the King's brother, and Prime Minister Karim Lamrani. Mr Kosygin drove from the airport to the Royal Palace to begin a round of talks with King Hassan. The Soviet Prime Minister, who will spend three days in Morocco, is the third Russian leader to visit the country in the last ten years.

    SYNOPSIS: Soviet Prime Minister Alexei Kosygin arrived in Rabat on Friday for the beginning of a three-day official visit to Morocco. Mr Kosygin is the third Soviet leader to visit Morocco in the last ten years. He was greeted at the airport by eight-year-old Crown Prince Sidi Mohammed, elder son of King Hassan, and by Prince Moualay Abdallah, the King's brother, and Prime Minister Karim Lamroni.

    The Soviet Prime Minister had just complete a four-day visit in neighbouring Algeria. He was due to hold talks with King Hassan and Prime Minister Lamrani, concerning problems of mutual concern-- including the situation in the Middle East and the Mediterranean. After reviewing the guard of honour at the airport, Mr Kosygin was driven to the Royal Palace to begin his talks with the King.

    The Soviet Prime Minister and the King met for half an hour before and after a dinner given in Mr Kosygin's honour. The Soviet Prime Minister said that "problem of peace and progress units Morocco and the Soviet Union. "He said that his people are always with the people of other countries in the struggle against imperialism. Proposing a toast to his guest, King Hassan said he had an enormous affection for the Soviet Prime Minister because he is "at once a practical and theoretical men, scientific and human, who knows the value of figures, but gives them only a relative value".
