    Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother opened June 8 a new annex -"for the maintenance of true religion and the furtherance of learning, education and research" - at Trinity College Cambridge. The name of the annex: Angel Court. The late King George 6, husband of the Queen Mother, once spent a year as an undergraduate at the College.

    The Court is the most substantial addition to the College for nearly a hundred years. With the royal visitor; the Master of Trinity College, Lord Adrian. A slight drizzle fell as the Queen Mother arrived to perform the opening ceremony. In a brief speech, she said she dedicated the Court to the purpose for which Trinity College was founded - for the maintenance of true religion and the furtherance of learning, education and research.

    Afterwards, a walk through Trinity Great Court. The reconstruction at the College provides fifty additional places at Trinity. Then the Queen Mother went by launch to the College landing stage to meet members of the College Rowing Club and watch Club races.
