Background: Los Angeles is still recovering from the earthquakes of the last few days, but to the north residents of the San Fernando Valley are still living in fear...not of further quakes, but of the breakup of the Van Norman Dam which showed cracks after the tremors. About 80,000 people have been evacuated from under the huge water holder and have been told they might not be allowed to go back to their homes until the dam is repaired, and the danger of further forecast quakes has past.
