  • Description

Mexico City's football stadiums are ready for the final rounds of the 1970 World Cup, which are to be played in the first three weeks of June next year.

Two of the stadiums to be used are at Leon and Toluca. The final itself will be played at the famous Aztec stadium, which was used for the Olympic games last year.

The Aztec stadium has seating for 100,000 and the football pitch is covered with imported grass from the United Kingdom. The drainage system of the pitch is such that it can be used in less than five minutes after a heavy rain.
