    THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THRONGED LONDON'S STREETS TONIGHT (SATURDAY) AS ENGLAND CELEBRATED THEIR WIN OF THE WORLD CUP. AND , AT ONE OF THE CITY'S NEWEST AND PLUSHEST HOTELS , THE ENGLAND AND WEST GERMAN TEAMS ATTENDED A HUGE BANQUET THROWN BY THE INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF FOOTBALL ASSOCIATIONS (FIFA).

    THE ENGLAND SIDE WAS MOBBED WHEN THEY ARRIVED FOR THE BANQUET. THE CROWDS SANG "RULE BRITANNIA" AND CHANTED "ENGLAND-ENGLAND" AS THE TEAM APPEARED ON A BALCONY AND SHOWED OFF THE TROPHY.

    INSIDE THE HOTEL, HUNDREDS OF GUESTS, INCLUDING THE BRITISH PRIME MINISTER, MR HAROLD WILSON, JOINED THE FINAL TEAMS AND OTHER WORLD CUP FOOTBALLERS, AT THE CELEBRATIONS BANQUET.

    THERE WERE PRESENTATIONS TO TEAM CAPTAINS - AS WELL AS AWARDS FOR PARTICULAR ACHIEVEMENTS DURING THE COMPETITION.

    TO ENGLAND'S CAPTAIN, BOBBY MOORE, WENT A TROPHY FOR THE BEST ALL-ROUND PERFORMANCE. AND, FOR SCORING THE MOST GOALS DURING THE TOURNAMENT. PORTUGAL'S EUSEBIO COLLECTED A CHEQUE FOR GBP1,000 (ABOUT 2,800 DOLLARS).

    RUSSIA'S VETERAN GOALKEEPER, LEV YASHIN, WAS PRESENTED WITH A TROPHY FOR HIS PERFORMANCE IN THE CONTEST.
