  • Description

Japan has started a colour Television service from its two stations, N.H.K (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) and N.T.V, (Nippon T.V. Network), in Tokyo. Both services are designed to operate on the present black and white channel frequencies and will, in fact, be transmitted in both colour and black and white. So far, however, there are only about nine colour receivers in the country and these are owned by the T.V. networks concerned. Such is their popularity, however, when they are placed in strategic positions in public places, that it is hopes to import large quantities of American sets next year.
