Background: Wives and families of "American soldiers still held as prisoners-of-war in North Vietnam were invited to the Pentagon in Washington on Wednesday (22 December) for a party and prayers, attended by Secretary of Defence Melvin Laird and former Vietnam overlord General Westmoreland.

The women were led in prayer for their husbands, and confirmed their religious beliefs.
