  • Description

A series of celebrations in Paris marked the 15th Anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Agreement on Vietnam which ended the war between France and the Vietnam forces. The main event was a rally at the Hotel Moderne which was attended by Madame Nguyen Thi Binh and Mr. Xuan Thuy, both prominent delegates to the Vietnam peace in talks now being held in Paris.

Madame Binh is the Foreign Minister of the self-styled Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam, and Mr. Xuan Thuy is a Minister of State representing the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam).

The rally was organised by the Council for peace of the Paris area. Other activities to mark the anniversary included the circulation of resolutions endorsing the ten-point plan of the South Vietnamese National Liberation Front. Workers in several districts signed the resolutions which called the NLF's plans "an important contribution to the search for peace."
