    The five million dollar International Hotel at Idlewild Airport will be open for business tomorrow--the first hotel, incidentally, to be built in New York City in twenty-five years.

    Idelwild's International Hotel, six stories tall and able to accommodate between three hundred and 375 people, is situated on a ten-acre site at the gateway to the airport. The hotel was built by the Port of New York Authority, which runs the airport, and it will be operated under lease to Knott Hotels Corporation. All public rooms in the hotel were designed by decorator Dorothy Draper, including a main dining room with tables for 160 people. There are 320 rooms are in the hotel, ranging from simple single rooms to executive suites. All rooms are air conditioned. Special furniture units combining desk, dresser and television cabinet have been designed for some rooms. The International Hotel will be used by flight crews as well as airline passengers. It has a cocktail lounge, private dining rooms, special meeting facilities and outside a 270-car parking lot.
